COMEDIAN Ken Dodd has cancelled all of his upcoming shows due to health woes.

The 90-year-old funnyman has pulled out of his Happiness Tour in order to give himself time to recover from his recent illness, after the star admitted he’s “not out of the woods by a long way”.

The stand-up star was discharged from the Liverpool Heart and Chest hospital just under two weeks ago, following a six-week stay for a nasty chest infection.

But while Ken has been allowed to return home, it seems fans won’t be seeing him onstage anytime soon.

Speaking after his dismissal from hospital, he said: “I have been so very, very well-treated – I can’t praise the staff here too highly.

“They have been absolutely wonderful. And the kindness and, dare I say it, affection I have been shown has been absolutely amazing.”

He went on to admit that his health was still a long way off from returning to how it once was.

“I’m not out of the woods by a long way – for example, I need to get my legs sorted out, because they seem to take me in a different direction than the one I want to go in.”

In January, The Sun revealed how 90-year-old Ken had been rushed to a ward after falling ill at home.

While in hospital, cruel trolls started to spread rumours that Ken had passed away.

His agent said of the claims: “This report was upsetting and, of course, completely untrue – but reports like this get passed around very quickly, which is what makes them all the more distressing.”

Ken, knighted in 2017 for his 64-year comedy career and charity work, believed he picked up the illness at his sellout gig at the Liverpool Echo Arena in December — just as the Australian flu gripped the UK.

Workaholic Ken, famous for his unruly hair and “tickle stick”, was one of Britain’s best-selling singers of the Sixties, with hits such as Love is Like A Violin, Tears and Happiness.

He made it into the Guinness World Records for telling 1,500 jokes in three-and-a-half hours.
